I think we can all agree that Assassin\u2019s Creed 3 was the low point for the series and while it has its fans it simply lacked the architectural splendour and wonderful stories of the previous instalments. But what it lacks in historical monuments to desecrate and crusaders to stab, it makes up for with one of the funniest Easter eggs in video games. Go up to a turkey at The Homestead, buy it dinner and punch in the legendary Konami Code ( up up down down left right left right B A) and your feathered friend will join your cause by donning an assassins cloak and hood. Unfortunately he doesn\u2019t get a tiny hidden blade, but just add that to the list of disappointments that accompany game. <\/p>\n And speaking of previous Assassin\u2019s Creed games (see I can do segues), did you know that you can find Altair in \u201cThe Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings\u201d? Except when you find him it appears that he pushed his luck one too many times with the whole \u201cleap of faith\u201d thing because when you find him he\u2019s a bit\u2026dead. Yup, early in the prologue in \u201cLa Valette’s castle\u201d you\u2019ll find Altair dead from what appears to be a botched attempt at landing in a hay bale from a great height. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Who remembers Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? Me neither, but apparently it was\u00a0 an Indiana Jones movie around 2008 that was so bad that the world has collectively agreed to mental repress it. But apparently the guys at Obsidian didn\u2019t get the memo and decided that including an Easter egg immortalising a ludicrously idiotic scene from it was just what their game needed. If you activate the \u201cWild Wasteland\u201d trait at the beginning of the game and venture past Goodsprings you will find this fedora wearing idiot dead in his fridge because he thought it would protect him from a nuclear explosion! <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Everyone knows John Romero, oh sorry. I should say everyone knows \u201cwho\u201d John Romero is, because only we know him, personally and have spoken with him, have his number and are invited to his house for dinner because we are best friends. But for the rest of you “non-friends”, he is the godfather of fps (check out our interview here)<\/a> and isn\u2019t afraid to make himself the subject of mockery. In Doom 2, after nailing the final boss in the mush with a rocket-launcher, if you enter the \u201cno-clip\u201d cheat code and Walk through the hole in the boss\u2019s head, you\u2019ll be ushered into a room. Here you\u2019ll find John Romero, or at least his head, he spouts some gibberish that if reversed says \u201cTo win the game, you must kill me, John Romero.\u201d \u00a0And being the well-adjusted person you are, of course you willingly oblige. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n I\u2019m going to assume that you have all played Skyrim because by now it has been released for every gaming console, PC and tablet device known to man. But it would be silly to think that you have completed all the quests and unlocked all the secrets, unless you\u2019re Korean or my brother. One of the secrets hidden within this gargantuan behemoth of a game is a clever nod to another beloved nerd staple, \u201cStar Wars\u201d. Located inside of \u201cBleakcoast Cave\u201d, after besting a Frost Troll, you will come across a skeleton suspended upside down in ice, with his sword inches from reach. If you\u2019ve seen The Empire Strikes Back, this will be all too familiar as it is the exact situation Luke found himself in on Hoth.
