State of Decay 2

The first thing that came to mind while playing this game was that it isn’t going to win any beauty contests, it’s not awful, it just seems to lack a certain polish. A perfect example of this is the vehicle design, while the cars themselves look great smaller details like the taillights or petrol caps look like they were an afterthought.  If this had been the only instance of graphically cut corne...[Read More]

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood (Nintendo Switch)

Max and the Curse of Wonderwall revolves around the titular Max, who comes home to find his dick of a younger brother smashing up his toys. And like any reasonable prepubescent, Max proceeds to look up a spell online to rid himself of his terminal case of younger brother. God of War

You would have a hard time convincing people that the way Kratos goes about things in the previous God of War games resembles anything close to reasonable. But I got the feeling, we weren’t meant to take him seriously and simply enjoy the cathartic violence. So, when this new God of War sauntered onto our screens with a new family and a more reserved attitude I was somewhat puzzled. You’ve killed ...[Read More]

NBA 2K18

I decided to test out my skills against the computer A.I in an exhibition match before I attempted anything as insane as online or local co-op. I was up against The Cleveland Cavaliers for my inaugural match and knowing essentially nothing about basketball I opted to play as The Boston Celtics because I have vague memories of them being quite good in previous NBA titles. While the Boston Celtics m...[Read More]

Shadow of The Colossus HD

I was a massive fan of the original Shadow of The Colossus when it first debuted on PlayStation 2, I have fond memories of performing lizard genocide to improve my grip meter, all so I could scale a massive monster and stab him up the urethra. So, when the PS4 version was announced I was overjoyed that I would get to return to that world and kill sentient mountains, while they try to shake off the...[Read More]

Tiny Troopers Joint Ops XL

The game starts off with a Tutorial mode which is mildly annoying, due to the repetitive music and noises from npcs, before throwing you into the main menu where you can choose from Soldier, Special Ops (which are essentially the same), Zombie campaign or Zombie Horde. The non-zombie related missions were quite dull and very samey with an odd difficulty curve for some missions, all of which start ...[Read More]

Mantis Burn Racing DLC

A while ago I reviewed Mantis Burn Racing, a top-down racing game brought to us by VooFoo studios (check that review out here). Since then however, VooFoo Studios has released new DLC for Mantis Burn Racing, “Snowbound Pack” and “Elite Class”, well we were lucky enough to get sent a review code for the new DLC and here’s what we thought. Gameplay The Gameplay remains largely unchanged, it’s still ...[Read More]

King’s Quest Chapter 3: Once Upon A Climb

Right from the start, this episode already seems like it will be better than the second, in the first scene we get a mini puzzle, this one involving time travel, nicely explained away by our framing device of Grandpa telling his stories and forgetting a bit of it. When we get to the present we’re now following a Graham in the prime of his life, again, a few years after the events of the last...[Read More]
